New Chance Experience (CHANCE) Residential Center
chance for girls at Bloomington Springs, Tennessee, provides a maximum of 16
adolescent girls a safe haven in which to mature. CHANCE for girls operates through a
combination of funding under the uniform Youth Placement Law, taking referrals from both
private and public sources. Residents receive around-the-clock psychological counseling,
on-campus education, vocational training, and independent living skills training. The goal
of CHANCE is to return adolescent girls to their respective communities where they can
become productive citizens. The CHANCE therapeutic program can be completed in 6 months.
Serves all 24 counties.
Chance at Indian Mound Farm provides the same
therapeutic program for adolescent boys as CHANCE for girls. The 110-acre DeKalb County
Farm is self-contained, staff-secure and provides a complete vocational education training
program centered around farming and building trades in addition to on-campus school and
psychological counseling. Serves 16 residents with around-the-clock care with the ultimate
goal of returning adolescent boys to their respective communities. Serves all 23 counties.
