Drivers Education Classes

The UCHRA is now providing Drivers Education Classes at our Cookeville office. Classes consist of 30 hours of classroom training and 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction.

Classes consist of four 7 1/2 hour sessions, usually on Saturdays, and driving time in one hour increments at the student's convenience. UCHRA provides all materials including, a Drivers Education car, the Responsible Driving Curriculum, Tennessee Drivers Handbook, lesson plans, and a wide variety of videos and a behind-the-wheel checklist.

After successful completion of all instructions, students will be given both road and written test. If the student passes the test at UCHRA, the tests may be waived at the Driver Testing Station. The student will only need to have an eye exam to be presented a drivers license.

Driving Classes Drivers Education classes at UCHRA are licensed and inspected by the TN Department of Safety.

Cost of the class is $250.00, which could be offset by lowered insurance rates.
